The objective of this project was to create a paper sample book for a paper company that included a number of die cuts, folds, and varnishes. This book was designed to contain gold metallic varnish over headlines inside the book, clear varnish over the flower on the cover, a roll fold, gate fold, and envelope fold that contain annotated maps. Inspiration was taken from the unusually named flowers that exist in the world. Flowers are supposed to be pretty and feminine, not named after Mick Jagger or swaddled babies. The idea was turned into an investigation of why these flowers have these names. This book was created to emulate being taken deep into different regions of the world to record observations.
